Google Pixel 9a Leak Hints at a Major Design Improvement

📱 More Balanced Bezels Than the Pixel 8a

The Google Pixel 8a received praise for its overall design, but its thick and uneven bezels—especially the noticeably larger bottom bezel—gave it a somewhat unpolished look. However, a newly leaked image suggests that the Google Pixel 9a might address this issue by featuring more uniform bezels for a cleaner and more modern appearance.

This leaked image, shared by reliable leaker Evan Blass via 9to5Google, appears to be an official Pixel 9a marketing image, albeit in low resolution. While the bezels are still relatively thick, they seem more evenly distributed, creating a more refined look.

📸 Possible Camera Upgrade

Another notable detail from the leaked image is the front-facing punch-hole camera, which appears slightly larger than the Pixel 8a’s selfie camera. It looks more in line with the 10.5MP selfie camera of the Google Pixel 9, suggesting a potential upgrade for improved selfies and video calls.

📅 Launching Soon – A Rival to the iPhone SE 4?

Reports suggest that Google could unveil the Pixel 9a on March 19, putting it in direct competition with Apple’s upcoming iPhone SE 4, expected to launch around the same time.

Despite its noticeable bezels, the Pixel 9a might have a more modern design than the iPhone SE 4, as Apple’s mid-range device is rumored to feature a large notch instead of a hole-punch display.

🔄 A Curious Change to the Rear Camera Design

While the Pixel 9a’s front design appears improved, the back might be a different story. According to leaks, Google is reportedly removing the signature camera bar found on recent Pixel models. Instead, the camera lenses will sit flush with the phone’s back, giving it a sleeker but more generic look.

This design shift is unexpected, but all will be confirmed soon when Google officially announces the Pixel 9a and we see how accurate these leaks really are.
